   • Immunization records must be received by the school prior to the student attending, if you have a copy of your student's immunization record, please upload it now. If you do not have a copy and need additional time to follow up with your medical provider, no upload is required at this time. However, a copy must be received before your student attends their first day of school.

4. Interdistrict Transfer Release Permit from your student's resident district if available (not required for initial application).
   • If you do not have the Interdistrict Transfer Release form ready to upload as part of your application, upon receipt please email the release to agalindo@wiseburn.org.
5. The following documents for the grade you are applying to (required)
   • Requests for Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Kindergarten:
     1. The most recent completed Pre-School or TK semester (or trimester) report card or any currently available data on behavior and academic readiness.
   • Requests for Grades 1^st through 4^th:
     1. The most recent completed semester (or trimester) report card evidencing a grade point average of 3.0 and no behavior or attendance issues; and
     2. The final report card for the prior school year showing the entire year's reporting grades.
   • Requests for Grades 5^th through 8^th:
     1. The most recent completed semester (or trimester) report card evidencing a grade point average of 3.0 and no behavior or attendance issues and
     2. The final report card for the prior school year showing the entire year's reporting grades and
     3. The most recent standardized test scores, i.e. California Assessment of Student Performance & Progress (CAASPP), Iowa, Stanford, etc.

Applicants who do not meet these requirements will be reviewed if space becomes available.

  • If you do not have the approved release ready to upload as part of your application, upon receipt please email the release to agalindo@wiseburn.org.
• It is your responsibility to fill out Wiseburn’s online permit application completely and submit all the required documentation listed above at the time of submission. Unfortunately, incomplete applications cannot be processed and will be removed after 30 days.

There are two types of interdistrict permits:

1. An approved Interdistrict Release Permit allows a student to leave his/her school district of residence (where they live) to apply to another school district (Wiseburn).
2. An approved Interdistrict Attendance Permit allows a non-Wiseburn resident student to attend a Wiseburn school.

Families can apply for a permit to attend a Wiseburn school on January 30, for the following school year, by logging onto https://wiseburn.schoolmint.net/ and uploading all the required documents. Please refer to the table below for important dates and information:

Approval notification will be sent via email once space availability is determined and notifications may occur on a rolling basis during the months of February through August. Permit approval is subject to space. Please ensure that your child is enrolled in your home school of residence while you are waiting to hear whether your child has been approved for a permit with Wiseburn.

Although not a guarantee, Wiseburn does its best to accommodate siblings based on space available in the applicable grade.

No, parent employment only helps you to be released from your district of residency. Permit approvals are based on space availability.

Parents/guardians are responsible for providing transportation to and from school for students who are approved on an interdistrict permit.

Students who enroll in Wiseburn on an interdistrict permit do not need to reapply each year.  All students currently attending on an interdistrict permit will be allowed to remain in the District until they leave or graduate from the 8^th grade, assuming that they reply to the Verification of Continuing Enrollment notice annually and uphold the student expectations and parent requirements listed on the Interdistrict Attendance Permit Agreement.

If you are not a resident, you will need to get a release permit from your district of residency.

Yes, your child is still guaranteed a seat to return to his/her district of residency.

School districts typically will only issue one release permit, once a year with the exception of military families who under the Hadley Bill - SB 306, are able to apply for a release permit to more than one school district.

Yes, we accept families from all surrounding school districts, and yes, there is an enrollment cap for Hawthorne and Lawndale School Districts only. Wiseburn entered into an agreement in 2012 with these two school districts regarding the number of permit requests that Wiseburn can approve from these districts each school year. Once the enrollment cap is reached for any of these districts, Wiseburn will not be able to accommodate any more permit requests for that school year.
